Hand Rejuvenation

Hands tend to show our age more than any other body part. To reverse the aging process, Dr. Thomas Crabtree offers some procedures to rejuvenate and restore the youthful look of your hands. For age spots, sun spots, wrinkles, prominent veins and moles Dr. Crabtree may utilize chemical peels or other laser treatments to renew the younger appearance of the hands.

For a more dramatic look, Dr. Crabtree will use fat-grafting on the hands. This is a procedure that uses your own fat to fill in the hollows, collapsed areas on the back of the hand. The fat can also be used to hide the prominent veins that also contribute to an elderly looking hand. This procedure is usually performed in the clinic under local anesthesia. The technique involves harvesting the fat from your abdomen through a tiny incision.

The fat is removed and prepared through a series of steps that preserve the stem cells present in fat. The fat is then transferred into the back of the hands using small syringes and needles. No sutures are required for this procedure.

In some cases this procedure is done in combination with liposuction to other areas of the body. The procedure takes 1-2 hours.
